Through our prison’s windowsill

towards Calvary Hill!
I’d’ve sooner gone and killed

my going to Calvary Hill!
Ain’t no chick or soothing pill
that could lure or sway
my desires away
from that Calvary Hill!
Winds that blew like hell until
my eyes seared in pain,
and the coldest rain
blew to Calvary Hill!
In the rotten cross is sealed
the most precious stone
carved with devil bone
up on Calvary Hill!
Through sheer power of will,
knowing well I could,
I broke that holy wood
up on Calvary Hill!
Darkness then to me revealed
powers of unknown
once I held that stone.
I knew god had had his fill
when I cursed his name,
yet no lightning came
down on Calvary Hill!
